a concept has a truth value as its value

Filed under: beer — xy @ 8:36 am

The recent dry weather has been doing a number on me, from prickly skin to an incessantly runny and stuffy nose. Along with work and a full load of classes, this is officially quarter from hell. Usually the weeks in a quarter pass by too quickly to even realize that we’re progressing through the term, but this time around, I can’t believe it’s only second week. I wish I were done with everything already. I miss living the life. But getting a good score report will give me the needed energy to get through to December, /wink.

I was thinking of a few personal statement topics, so if you’d like to hear them and give me some feedback, I’d highly appreciate it. If you have experience on an adcomm, even better. I promise to post more on fairly more interesting topics. Today is not the day, so sucks for you.

a strong citrus presence…

The quarter is winding down, I’m burned out, I got a crap grade in my favorite class, my grades won’t be spectacular, and I have no idea how I would’ve done better this quarter unless I would’ve eliminated any semblance of humanity from my life. I suppose annihilating all traces of free time and relaxation could have helped, but fuck it man. I guess all that Naruto watching didn’t help much though.

Regarding my previous posts on climate change, I wanted to make it clear that I don’t have any agenda against Bruin Republicans, nor am I sympathetic to Bruin Democrats. I have my own political stances and I think for the most part people rarely align completely with a political party’s platform, and when they do, it’s usually because the gray areas get filled in concerning areas people don’t care about as much.

In any case, similar to how Aaron wants to try out a new cafe every week, I think I’ll make an effort to try a new beer every week. I’ve made significant progress in this respect as in one weekend I’ve had the honor of trying both Deschutes Inversion IPA and Weihenstephaner WeissBier. I’m not an alcoholic and I don’t like getting drunk. I appreciate the taste and complexity of beer. At this point I’m assuredly confident (redundant, yes, emphatic, yes) that my favorite style of beer is hefeweizen, or wheat beer. If you’d like to try out different types of beer with me, please let me know. Otherwise I have to gamble on six packs or get large bottles that don’t pour properly into a single glass. Either way, it leads to waste! On deck, I have Fraziskaner, also a hefeweizen. I need suggestions, too! Pictures will accompany accounts of my experiences. Unfortunately I didn’t take any of the beautiful Weihenstephaner with its large frothy head (poor retention though), but I will make an effort to capture my other pours. Hooray for liquid bread!

Up next: The abomination that is the clear bottle, and a wondrous new discovery a la House of Blues.

I’m a posting fiend!
