restlessnessosity

Filed under: Uncategorized, life — xy @ 9:28 pm

This queasiness is unsettling. As game day nears, I’m becoming increasingly aware of how much my future is riding on this test. I’ve been doing consistently well on practice exams, but I’m afraid of a brutal curve or just a lapse in performance. You could argue that the cruciality of the test applies to everyone, though I sincerely doubt many need a high score to the degree that I need one, given my abysmal grades. I need to just push this negativity out of my head and remember that the mere existence of such a test is a saving grace - without it, I would never even be in contention.

Regardless of my chances, I’m restless. Impatient, even. I want to get my future started and I feel as if there are too many opposing forces in the way - forces that I’ve established through my previous mistakes. If only I could somehow get this struggle across to the people who will be deciding my fate…

Baby steps… I must take baby steps…

coffee log

I doubt I need to reiterate my affection for Seattle, but when Jaymie and I visited that gem of a town, we ran into a few familiar coffee places like Seattle’s Best and a little known place called Starbucks. One that we hadn’t heard of before though was Tully’s Coffee.

We picked up their house blend last night, described as “smooth - inviting - buttery” and indeed, it is all three. I ground up enough beans this morning to fill our grinder twice over and filled our mugs high, adding just a bit of chocolate soymilk to both drinks. I’d have to say this is one of the best home brews I’ve had - I can obviously only speak for myself. Still, it’s exciting, and I think I’ll have to make a habit of brewing this every morning, at least until the morning of the LSAT.

the proverbial holy grail

I’ve finally found it. Unparalleled feel, virtually no torque, no overhitting, heavy but maneuverable. The feared ProStaff 6.0 85. Why was I so afraid to try it? Because of hacks and wussies on TW forums talking about how “demanding” it is to use such a heavy racquet with such a small head size.

I’ll have more detailed reviews with pictures posted in the next few days.

And I’ve officially been converted to the church of the midsize.
